The story

The Hôtel Westminster, a hotel on the Rue de la Paix between Place Vendôme and the Opéra, has welcomed travellers since 1807. It was first called the Wagram, then the Chatham, before taking the name Westminster in 1830, in honour of the Duke of Westminster, whose loyalty set the tone of the house.

In December 1906 the Société de l’hôtel Westminster applied to build a six-storey building at number 13, designed by the architect Marcel Auburtin. Completed in 1907, it keeps its Haussmann-style façade and its Belle Époque interiors: wood panelling, antique clocks, chosen furniture.

The Warwick group acquired the hotel in 1982. From 2019 to 2024 the decorator Laurent Mangoust led its complete restoration, and the house received its fifth star in 2025.

A short walk from Place Vendôme, in the 2nd arrondissement, the hotel has 102 rooms, including 20 suites. Le Céladon serves breakfast and afternoon tea, and the Duke’s Bar recalls the duke who gave the house its name.
