Cheval d'Or

Behind a façade that has not changed, Cheval d'Or, a historic restaurant in the 19th arrondissement opened in 1987, took on a new lease of life in 2023 under Crislaine Medina, Nadim Smair, Hanz Gueco and Luis Andrade. This landmark Chinese restaurant now serves a cuisine that marries French and Chinese traditions. The menu honours its origins while allowing itself eclectic reinterpretations of great classics, such as a croque-madame reworked with prawns, fried eggs and chilli oil.

Guests follow chef Hanz Gueco's work from the dining room, enlivened by an open kitchen. Red accents against exposed brick make for a warm atmosphere, and a seat at the bar gives a front-row view of the stoves.
