The Lighter
No longer available
Colorful, striped and, as a result, very hard to lose: this is the BIC lighter dressed in the bright colors of Lao Siam. A small, cheerful object that carries the restaurant's spirit in a pocket, ready for candles at the table, a late evening outside or a friend who will, of course, give it back.
A pocket souvenir with plenty of personality.

Lao Siam opened its doors in 1985 at 49 rue de Belleville, in the 19th arrondissement, founded by the Souksavanh family, the parents of the current owner, who came from Thailand and Laos. Now run by Alexandre Souksavanh, the restaurant serves the best home-style cooking of both countries, true to the family tradition for forty years; the Laotian sausages are among its signature dishes.
The dining room is open from Wednesday to Monday, lunch and dinner, and closes on Tuesday and at Wednesday lunchtime. Our favourite table is beside the famous goldfish aquarium. Right next door, Ama Siam, the neighbouring establishment, offers a short menu of specials and a selection of natural wines.
