The story

Lavrut is a stationer and graphic arts shop opened on 1 April 1922 at 52 passage Choiseul, in the 2nd arrondissement. That day Claude Lavrut opened his shop in this covered arcade of the Opéra district.

Over the years the house won loyal customers among schoolchildren, art students and designers. Jacques Prévert bought his paper and pencils here, and fashion houses such as Ungaro, Chanel and Louis Vuitton came for their sketching materials.

Lavrut also ran a printing works for many years, closed in 1991 in the face of large provincial printers. The house then went through difficult years, changed hands in 2008 and joined a group that brings together Adam, the Montparnasse colour maker, Boisnard & Stern and Lamartine.

In passage Choiseul the shop spreads over a large space: the fine arts department, plan chests for large formats, stretched canvases, then stationery, notebooks, pens and office supplies. Its advisers help designers, professional or amateur, find the right paper and the right tool.
