Yorgaki Café, the first and only Parisian Kafeneion, stands out as a tribute to Athenian architecture and the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. Founded by renowned creative director Yorgo Tloupas, this Greek café has quickly become a peaceful oasis in the heart of the bustling 9th arrondissement.

Since opening its doors in 2019, Yorgaki Café has brought an authentic slice of Greek culture to the City of Light. The menu features classic favorites like Yorgyros sandwiches, greek salad, and, most notably, traditional Greek coffee brewed in a briki—a small pan where coffee, water, and sugar are slowly cooked in hot sand.

But the experience doesn’t end with the coffee. The café also houses a petite épicerie, offering Greek essentials like olives, tins of briny sardines, wines, and oils—all carefully imported from Greece. With its raw straw chairs, white-and-blue tiles, and cobalt tables, the space evokes the charm of a cliffside village on the Aegean.

With a fresh, seasonal menu, a deep sense of authenticity, and a lovingly curated épicerie, Yorgaki Café is a small gem not to be missed.

Yorgaki Café proudly holds the title of Paris’s first—and only—Greek café. Founded by renowned creative director and typography expert Yorgo Tloupas, whose striking visual campaigns have shaped global brands across fashion, sports, and the automotive industry, Yorgaki is more than just a café—it’s a cultural statement. Previously the creative director of GQ France, Tloupas brings the same level of design precision and storytelling to Yorgaki. From the Cyclades inspired visual identity to the seasonal menu, every detail has been carefully curated. What sets Yorgaki apart isn’t just the quality of its Greek cuisine—it’s the people. The entire team is either of Greek origin or fluent in Greek, making the experience as authentic as it is welcoming. We had the chance to meet the passionate team and speak with Yorgo himself to talk about the inspiration behind Yorgaki and his unique perspective on the Institutions of Paris.
