Since 1908, La Fontaine de Mars has served the very best of French bistrot cuisine in the 7th arrondissement, today under Chef Pierre Saugrain, beneath its red-and-white awnings. Its famous checkered tablecloths inspired this scarf: red and off-white checks, with "Fontaine de Mars" elegantly scripted across the center.
In soft, high-quality silk, it drapes beautifully at the neck, tied in the hair or knotted around the handle of a bag.
La Fontaine de Mars
Tucked away on a charming square a few streets from the Eiffel Tower, La Fontaine de Mars is a bistro full of character that embodies traditional French cooking. Recognisable by its red-and-white checked tablecloths, this institution on rue Saint-Dominique has been delighting lovers of south-western flavours since 1908. At the helm for more than thirty years, chef Pierre Saugrain makes a point of selecting quality produce and preserving the authenticity of the recipes. Signature dishes include the house duck terrine and œufs meurette, a delicious journey through the region. On sunny days, the terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while soaking up the Parisian charm.
