Opposite the Palais Bourbon, Café des Ministères is the true canteen of the deputies of the National Assembly. This flat plate, in the house colors, is the one that carries Chef Jean Sévègnes's renowned vol-au-vent with sweetbreads, poultry and truffled jus, among many traditional dishes crafted with care.
A fine piece of tableware to bring that careful cooking home.
Café des Ministères
At Café des Ministères, on rue de l'Université in the 7th arrondissement, tradition and quality come together with a modern outlook. Jean and Roxane Sévègnes took over this institution in 2019: he in the kitchen, Ducasse-trained, she in the dining room and in charge of the wine list. The couple has earned unanimous praise for the new life breathed into the classic French repertoire.
The menu is enriched with flavourful sauces and modern touches, with respect for the seasons and local produce. The chef's stuffed cabbage, crowned French champion in 2022, has become its emblem. With only around fifty covers, Café des Ministères quickly became an essential address in Paris: book ahead!
